Amazing Max teak garden furniture.
This Max Swing bench is one of the largest and stongest available. Large section A frames are very durable. Massive brass eyebolts and galvanized chain will provide years of reliable service. A removable drinks tray at each end adds to functionality. A slated wooden roof with additional canvas cover provide great protection from the elements.
The most noticeable thing about the MAX extension and fixed tables is that they use more wood, with fully 35mm thick tops and rails, and 70x70mm legs tapering down to 50x50mm, this together with the narrow slat and smooth bullnose moulding, give a more contemporary look. By using stainless steel corner brackets the system does away with the glue, dowels and threaded inserts usually associated with garden table assembly. These tables can be assembled by anyone with a limited handyman capability by tightening a few screws and nut’s, which, when used in combination with a machine made mortise and tenon to locate the legs and provide a shoulder to tighten against, make for a very solid construction system which can just as easily be disassembled again. This system also does away with the lower crossmembers and “H” pieces with their extra joinery at the bottom of the legs, common on other designs, giving a cleaner look. The rectangular tops feature traditional mortise and tenon joinery, whereas the ovals and rounds have a strengthening butterfly glued and screwed under all the end to end segment joints. There is also a 20x20mm bead glued and screwed into every slat on the underside of all the tops to reinforce the joint between the slats and the frame, a common problem area.
